We are honored to have the following keynotes, conference speakers, panelists and workshop instructors contribute their expertise to the 2021 NY Metro Joint Cyber Security Conference.

Opening Keynote

  Dr. Edward G. Amoroso
Founder / CEO of TAG Cyber

Dr. Edward G. Amoroso is Chief Executive Officer of TAG Cyber LLC, a global cyber security advisory, training, consulting, and media services company supporting hundreds of major organizations across the world. Ed recently retired from AT&T after thirty-one years of service, beginning in Unix security R&D at Bell Labs and culminating as Senior Vice President and Chief Security Officer of AT&T from 2004 to 2016. He was elected an AT&T Fellow in 2010.

Ed is Research Professor in the Computer Science Department at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and a Senior Advisor at the Applied Physics Laboratory at Johns Hopkins University. He is author of six books on cyber security, and dozens of major research and technical papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Ed has also been Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at the Stevens Institute of Technology for the past twenty-nine years, where he has introduced over three thousand graduate students to the topic of information security.

Ed holds the BS degree in Physics from Dickinson College, the MS/PhD degrees in Computer Science from the Stevens Institute of Technology, and is a graduate of the Columbia Business School. He holds ten patents in cyber security technology, and he served previously on the Board of Directors for M&T Bank and the NSA Advisory Board. Ed's work has been highlighted on CNN, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal.

He has worked directly with four Presidential administrations on issues related to national security, critical infrastructure protection, and cyber policy. He and his wife Lee live in New Jersey and are the proud parents of three wonderfully successful Millennials.

Closing Keynote: Gula Tech Foundation

  Ron Gula
President and Co-Founder, Gula Tech Adventures

Ron is President at Gula Tech Adventures which focuses on cyber technology, cyber policy and recruiting more people to the cyber workforce. Since 2017, GTA has invested in dozens of cyber start-ups and funds and supported multiple cyber nonprofits and projects.

From 2002 to 2016, Ron was the co-founder and CEO of Tenable Network Security. He helped grow the company to 20,000 customers, raise $300m in venture capital and grow revenues to $100m, setting up the company for an IPO in 2018. Prior to Tenable, Ron was a cyber industry pioneer and developed one of the first commercial network intrusion detection systems called Dragon, ran risk mitigation for the first cloud company, was deploying network honeypots in the mid 90s for the DOD and was a penetration tester for the NSA and got to participate in some of the nation's first cyber exercises.

Ron is involved in a variety of cyber nonprofits and think tanks including Defending Digital Campaigns, the Center for Internet Security, the National Security Institute and the Wilson Center.

  Amit Yoran
Chairman and CEO, Tenable

Amit Yoran, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO), leads Tenable in its vision to empower organizations to understand and reduce their cybersecurity risk. Amit brings a unique blend of leadership in the private and public sectors to Tenable.

He previously served as RSA's president, spearheading its transformation into one of the most successful global security companies. Amit joined RSA through its acquisition of NetWitness, the network forensics company he founded and led as CEO.

Prior to NetWitness, Amit served as founding director of the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) program in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He was also founder and CEO of Riptech, one of the first managed security service providers (MSSP), which Symantec acquired in 2002.

Amit is a board member and advisor to several security startups. He is also recognized as a security industry thought-leader and influencer, and is often sought out for industry events and in the media to provide expert commentary on his vision for cybersecurity's future.

  Dov Yoran
Co-Founder and CEO, ThreatGRID

Dov Yoran has a career-long focus on information security, as a company founder, business and technology leader, investor and strategic advisor. He is currently a senior director in the Security Business Group of Cisco, where he oversees business development and strategic partnerships.

Dov Yoran was co-founder and CEO of ThreatGRID, the first unified malware analysis and threat intelligence solution that helps organizations defend against advanced cyberattacks, which was acquired by Cisco in 2014.

Previously he co-founded MetroSITE Group, where he is still a partner, which is an advisory services firm to both emerging security companies and large enterprises. Before that, he held several leadership roles at Solutionary, which is now NTT, Riptech, Symantec and Accenture.

Yoran is a founding member of the Cloud Security Alliance, serves on the boards of the NY Metro ISSA and CSA chapters, and frequently speaks at industry and financial conferences.

He has a master of science in engineering management with a concentration in information security management from George Washington University, and a bachelor of science, cum laude, in chemistry from Tufts University.

  Elad Yoran
Executive Chairman, KoolSpan

Elad Yoran is CEO of Security Growth Partners (SGP). He has 20+ years of experience as a several-time successful entrepreneur, executive, Board member and investor. Elad founded and led many foundational cyber companies. He is also an Associate Adjunct Professor at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).

Elad serves as Director on several technology company boards as well as on several government and industry boards including the Army Cyber Institute (ACI), the Cloud Security Alliance, and previously, the FBI IT Advisory Council.

Elad authored many articles going back to the original Internet Security Threat Report research papers and continues to be a leading voice in the industry. He is a noted public speaker and has appeared on Bloomberg, Fox Business, CNN, Fox News, BBC and other media. Elad has written and lectured extensively on what differentiates successful innovation from others and also on the need to mitigate the threat of pervasive surveillance because he believes that privacy is a bedrock human right upon which freedom and other liberties rest.

Elad's entrepreneurial experience, for which he was honored as "Entrepreneur of the Year" by E&Y, includes Riptech, acquired by Symantec; MediaSentry, acquired by SafeNet; Sentrigo, acquired by McAfee; and others. Elad has also served as VP Global Business Development at Symantec. In addition, Elad was a strategic investor and Director/Advisor to Red Owl Analytics, acquired by Forcepoint; NetWitness, acquired by RSA; ThreatGrid, acquired by Cisco; and Insightix, acquired by McAfee.

Previously, Elad served as a US Army officer where he led a platoon in Mogadishu, Somalia during Operation Restore Hope. He is a graduate of the Wharton School and West Point. Elad is the author of a children's book, "What Does it Mean to Be American?" and serves on the Board of the West Point Jewish Chapel Fund. He speaks Hebrew and is conversational in Spanish.
